Frequently Asked Questions

  • We offer a range of ways to tour the Mansion. Guest may navigate their way using a paper book guide, Self guided audio tour of choice, or engage in conversations and discussions with our knowledgeable docents on every floor.

  • No, you are welcome to play your choice of audio tours aloud on your phone, or you may bring along your favorite Bluetooth headphones that connect to your phone. We did away with shared headsets for sanitary reasons.

  • We are so fortunate to have the only passenger elevator to survive the great storm and still be in use! It is 131 years old, and very reliable. However, it is not ADA compliant, and only holds a standard wheel chair or walker due to it’s size. It holds 1,000 LBS, but is very small. Large electrical chairs will not fit. We do keep a standard chair on hand if the guest is able to transition to it, they are welcome to use it. We want to make sure all of our guests feel welcome and will do our very best to accommodate them.

  • We are a premier wedding & event venue! All of our events include set up and take down of provided furniture. Linens, Tables, Chairs, and Staff. We work with you to establish logistics with your chosen vendors, create floorplans, and make your event a night to remember.

  • We offer complementary parking in the back of the mansion. We have additional over flow parking in the adjacent lots to the east of Moody Mansion.

  • Each tour is different. We offer a standard tour which covers the primary living quarters of the home. It runs approximately 45 minutes. Additionally we have Premium tour, that includes an additional floor of the home to tour. It averages an hour in duration.

  • Docents are our fancy name for guides, and we have one at every floor to answer questions about the home and family. For groups of 6 or more you can add a private docent for an additional cost. This must be done a week in advance for staffing.
